After the diving in Singapore, we headed to Singapore, our wonderful home in Asia if you will. This was our first trip back after leaving a year ago and it was a wonderful time of seeing friends, visiting some old haunts, and of course eating all the food that we can’t get in the US.
It was nostalgic to be back. It was the first time we had ever spent a night in a hotel in Singapore and it was totally different having people direct you around the city (as if we didn’t already know but that is ok). We were lucky enough to overlap with the beginning of Chinese new year decorations and goodies, so we loaded up on pineapple tarts, love letters, almond cookies and got some Year of the Snake Decorations as well.
We realized how much we had missed Singapore, as everything just works, the people are really nice, the weather wasn’t too hot, and it definitely made us yearn for potential international stint again (but probably not in the near future). It was really was like coming home after a year away and it was a blessing to still have friends to see and share great food with during our stay.
See photos and captions below of all the meals we ate (we crammed in a lot of food in 48 hours).
