Day 4: Luxor and Karnak (start
of Nile Cruise)
This day started with an early morning but had some highlights of our trip.
We got to see Karnak
Temple which was a sprawling and fabulous temple complex that had
amazing hieroglyphs, vivid colors, and a few obelisks all very well
preserved. I especially liked the row of sphinxes with ram's heads that guarded the temple and was amazed by the sheer size of the complex.

We also got to see Hatsheput's temple with pictures below which was extremely
large and in a stunning location. Please note the colors of on the temple below, these were original colors and have not been redone.

The other highlight which is a must see was the Valley of the Kings and
Queens including the tomb of King Tutankhamen
and the artwork inside the tombs was simply spectacular and extremely
well preserved. Unfortunately there was no photography allowed in the
Valleys so you will have to take my word about how amazing the paintings
were. The photos below are from the parking lot.

On our way home we saw the Colossus of Memnon, which although large were not terribly impressive.
